Letter for week of October 25, 2011

So I now have figured out that Wednesday is Alex's "P" day. I have been checking emails every day hourly and so now I will only need to check it on Wednesday. He is doing great. He is loving his mission. He told me that the only time he has felt he spirit stronger is when he went to the temple for the first time. He loves the people in his district. There is a sister from Canada and an Elder from Australia and also an elder from California and an elder from Ogden and one from West Valley area. He tells me that they hung out in the pre-existance. I am so thrilled that he is truly loving this mission. He also told me that he is too busy to miss us. I am thrilled about that and wouldn't want it any other way.

Alex tells me that the language is coming so fast. He says that he hasn't ever learned faster in his life. It is amazing to me what the spirit can do for you if you stay close to it. I realize that I have to do a better job of reading my scriptures and staying closer to the spirit.

We went to my nieces farewell today and then right after that we went to my nephews farewell. What a blessed family we are. We will have 3 missionaries out at the same time. I don't think we have ever had that many missionaries out at one time in my family. I am so glad that Alex has reached this time in his life and that he is enjoying every minute of it.

On each one of his letters he started saying I will see you in one year 51 weeks. I informed him that it wasn't necessary to start the countdown. We are truly blessed to have a missionary out in the field. The lord is blessing us as well as Alex and I know we will grow through this period. I think the hardest thing about him being on his mission is not being able to talk to him. We used to talk for a while after work each night about his day and just things that was going on. I think that is probably the hardest part is knowing the only way we communicate is the once a week email. I guess it is setting me up for life because he won't always be able to talk to me each day.

I told my sister that now we need to do once a month dinners to support each other. Her son isn't in the mission home yet but he will be next month. I am hoping that him and Alex will be able to spend Thanksgiving together since they are both in the MTC over Thanksgiving. Both of Alex's cousins will leave the MTC before he does.
